Welcome to Mother of Mercy Catholic Parish.  Whether you are visiting our area, or have lived here for many years, may we extend a warm welcome to the Parish, and encourage you to come and join us.

Our parish comprises three churches: St John’s Church, Northgate, Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Hendra and St Cecilia’s Church, Hamilton. Each community has its identities and strengths but all have only one aim – to love one another as Jesus commanded us.  And it is through the Sacrament of Baptism we are called to the mission of Jesus.  Baptism works as an initiation to the whole ministry of pastoral care and the pain of loving. The pain and sacrifice we take for the wellbeing of each individual and the community as a whole binds us together.

We all are gifted with varied talents and abilities.  There is none who is not beneficial for building our parish community.  We all are precious and valuable pieces of our parish community.  It is the collaboration of our special gifts and abilities that build and sustain our community and help to continue the pastoral ministry in this parish. If you come across an area that appeals to you and you would like to become more informed or involved, please contact one of the members of the Parish Team.

Our Parish Pastoral Team is committed to providing pastoral care which nourishes faith in action.  It is together then, that we are called to build a Church that is caring of one another, that continues to learn from its tradition, that seeks to nourish faith, and that reaches out to those beyond our Parish family.
